How to present characters for children who are part of oral tradition in Brazil, without removing the atmosphere of mystery and fear surrounding their stories? They are characters like Curupira and Saci Perere, which were created around the camp fire, entangled in the forest, and that are part of the Brazilian imagination.
The idea was to transpose to the installations this elusive aspect of the characters, without falling in the simple representation with dolls. We build a forest where the characteristics of the characters were hinted and mimicked on the scene, thus avoiding their images. Light and sound were essential to involve and give the climate on the environments. Electromechanical equipment and images in computer graphics helped.
