The libretto stated that the French Revolution narrative should take place in a circus. The Director André Heller staged the opera in a hospice, giving a new consistency to the performance’s drama nature. Built diagonally, it had crisp and semi-transparent walls to allow the light to pass through. On the left, next to the apron stage, there is a realist library for the narrator, establishing a very strong contrast with the hospice.
